Blue Monkey member Paul Bartholomew takes the reins at our June event. Paul will be inviting us all to join him for a short talk informed by his interest in drawing and the part it plays in his own practice, as well as its wider uses in industry, product production and manufacturing. Paul will introduce us to a set of models which he has acquired and preserved which were used as drawing aids in the teaching of technical drawing and perspective but which have now taken on a new identity as sculptural objects.
There will be an opportunity during the evening to explore Paul’s collection of objects in a creative way, arranging and combining them and using photography, drawing and light to explore their sculptural qualities. At the end of the evening, everyone will be invited to choose an object or two to take away in order to respond to them by making a piece of work which could later become part of a group exhibition.
Blue Monkey members FREE. Non-members £5
Please feel free to bring a bottle (BYOB). As we’re supporting the movement to reduce single use plastics we are no longer offering plastic cups so please bring your own drinking vessel too.
