Photography Exhibition in Brighton, BATTLE GROUND For its fourth exhibition, the group LIGHT MOTIVES presents seven individual interpretations of the notion of "Conflict". Displaying different works ranging from portraits of exiled Tibetan nuns to English fortified landscapes, the show 'Battle Ground' constitutes a response to the Brighton Biennial "Memory of Fire – The War of Images and the Images of War." LIGHT MOTIVES is a group of seven contemporary photographers and artists who started to work together during the MA of Photography at the University of Brighton. Their varied backgrounds and approaches to photography bring a multi-faceted and critical look at the concerns of contemporary society. These seven photographers include an Arts Council recipient, an Association of Photographers award winner, trans-European exhibitors and published artists. As in the case of CROP, their first exhibition together, BATTLE GROUND is also a part of the Fringe Festival. BATTLE GROUND is on show from the 1st November to the 14th November 2008 at the BRIGHTON MEDIA CENTRE GALLERY, 15-17 Middle Street, Brighton BN1 1AL. Opening time: Mon-Fri 11-6pm, Sat-Sun 10-6pm.
