Crow Dillon-Parkin presents BIG at Stryx
Crow’s work is about the articulation of embodied experience from a feminist perspective. As an artist, mother, and ex-athlete, the physical body is central to everything she does. The themes in BIG range from motherhood, disability and medicalisation, ageing, the climate emergency, globalised misogyny, neo-colonial capitalism, and genocide. Women’s bodies are disproportionately affected by these factors.
All the works in this exhibition are physically bigger than Crow (and most other people) in at least one dimension. There is something liberating about working on drawings and objects that are physically bigger than yourself, especially when the subject feels too big to handle.
Private view Friday 1 March 6-8pm
Artist’s talk on Saturday 9 March at 1pm.
