The irreverent and tongue-in-cheek photographs stage mise-en-scènes featuring an all-star cast of famous and fabulous women, accompanied by a selection of stunning dogs that humorously mirror their human counterparts.
Shot by Sachon in London, Los Angeles the incredible women in the project include supermodel and socialite, Georgia May Jagger, transgender model and social Media savant, Ivana Vladislava, daughter of John Paul Getty and fashion muse, Ivy Getty, fashion designer, Mimi Wade, Vivienne Westwood’s granddaughter, Cora Corre, artist, photographer and filmmaker, Nadia Lee Cohen and British supermodels, Jourdan Dunn and Leomie Anderson.
The series title BITCHES is a double entendre that speaks to the spirit of play and provocation present in these photographs of remarkable women and surprisingly glamourous dogs. The series brings together women who have likely, at one point or another, been labelled a ‘bitch’, whether because of their beauty, success, independence or self- assuredness. It celebrates these characteristics, picturing women (and dogs) who are unabashed, daring and authentic. BITCHES embraces our societal fascination with visual media and our obsession with commerce, culture, glamour and celebrity, ultimately celebrating the incredible women at the heart of it all.
Images feature: fine artist and muse, Ariana Papademetropolous, model, Ariish Wol, stylist for the likes of Madonna and Beyonce, B Akerlund, social media savant, Beauty Spock, granddaughter of Vivienne Westwood, Cora Corre, musician and fashion muse, Cosima, supermodel, Georgia May Jagger, transgender model and social media savant, Ivana Vladislava, daughter of John Paul Getty and fashion muse, Ivy Getty, supermodel Jourdan Dunn, supermodel, Leomie Anderson, fashion designer, Mimi Wade, fashion designer, Mowalola, fine artist and photographer, Nadia Lee Cohen, model and writer, Nassia, and fashion muse and accessories designer, Zizi Donohoe.
Alongside the photography series, the exhibition will be complete with behind-the-scenes video footage, pulling back the curtain to reveal how the images were constructed, and a selection of polaroid photography taken during the shoots.
ABOUT DANIEL SACHON
Born in 1995, Daniel Sachon is a British image maker and creative director. Sachon is known for his complex, detail-orientated approach; he deconstructs and employs the visual indicators of the shared languages of art and commerce, allowing him to reverse engineer the image making process and meticulously construct worlds that exist somewhere between art and commerce, reality and fantasy. His work is a triality of visual exploration; it questions how a narrative is created art-historically, celebrates our enduring obsession with ageless glamour, and critiques the slick and meticulous formation of advertising campaigns designed to subliminally inform our lives.
His images have been featured in publications including i-D, LOVE, PAPER, Playboy, Schön, Tatler UK, The British Journal of Photography, Wall Street International, and the Daily Mail. He has worked with prestigious clients including 18.01 London, Fabrizio Viti, Jacques Marie Mage, Poster Girl, Roberta Einer, Yohji Yamamoto Eyewear, Zandra Rhodes, Mimi Wade, Miss Sohee, and Koibird.
In 2015 Daniel presented his first solo exhibition ‘Disruptive Innovation’ at the Londonewcastle project space in London. The body of work was an accumulation of images from his first five years as a photographer, with pieces from the series now at home in private collections across Europe. Before that, he exhibited with multiple galleries including Imitate Modern in London, Very Art Space in Paris, and Beautiful Crime Gallery in London.
Alongside his image making endeavours, Daniel has worked as a creative consultant on a variety of projects and has a background in art advisory, curation and consulting.
