Alternative Arts

Alternative Arts presents a diverse collection of images by black British photographers, drawn from their consecutive black history month exhibitions in 2021, 2022 & 2023. Celebrating contemporary culture and black British identity, the exhibition is a compelling journey of visual storytelling through a variety of perspectives, platforming both emerging and established photographers. The exhibition has been curated by Alternative Arts’ Director, Maggie Pinhorn, and renowned East End photographer, Sarah Ainslie.

Photographers include: Asiko, George Dyer, Bettina Adela, Chris Batantu, Rio Blake, Raymond Daley, Denise Ebanks, Tzion Essel, Marlan Henry, Raymond Daley, Taishan Henry, Elsie Kibue-Ngare, Dexter McClean, Trisha McCauley, Mohamed Mohamud, Angela Ogunfojuri, Olufemi Olaiya, Keleenna Onyeaka, Dola Posh.

All are invited to celebrate Black History Month by exploring this thought-provoking exhibition, which is available to view online for the month of October, accompanied by information on each photographer and complimentary text for their photographs. Alternative Arts
