Curated by Sherborne House Arts in collaboration with Weymouth College the ‘Bodyscapes’ Exhibition and accompanying workshop/seminar programme will take place at the new Project space at The Mulberry Gallery, in Weymouth, in October. This exciting and eclectic show will make connections between the forthcoming Olympics and the way that artists have historically viewed the body, it will examine body extremes, from those who push themselves to the edges of physical endurance, and look at issues surrounding weight and body image. The exhibition will include work by artists who use the body as source material. Wendy Elia’s often disturbing, large paintings question the voyeurism associated with the depiction of female and male nudes.
