Artists Louise Hodges and Philip Mayer have completed the fourth BUILD artist residency at Cornwall College Camborne which also marks the first artist collaboration for the residency programme.Hodges and Mayer, graduates of The University of Central England, relocated to Cornwall in October 2007 and undertook the BUILD residency programme as an opportunity to explore and experiment with the possibilities of a collaborative practice. Their shared interest lies in the dissection and reconstruction of the physical and psychological properties of the domestic object, space and situation. Their recent work incorporates photography, film and installation. For BUILD, Hodges & Mayer prompt us to question how we identify and attach ourselves to the everyday objects we surround ourselves with; those ubiquitous machines, like a fridge, a toaster, a vacuum cleaner. Private View and Artists TalkThursday 10 April 6-9pm (Artists Talk 6:30pm prompt start) BUILD is an artist residency programme, organised with collaborative partners Cornwall College Camborne, Creative Skills and ProjectBase, to support Cornwall-based emerging artists’ professional development
