BETWEEN: Inter-disciplinarity and the expanded field
A one-day research conference
University of Wolverhampton, Faculty of Arts
8th October 2018
Call for Papers:
How do creative researchers draw on imagery, philosophies, theories and methodologies from other disciplines?
Inter-disciplinarity may be defined as a connectivity between disciplines in all conceivable forms. The prefix ‘inter’ meaning between, can be distinguished from multi-disciplinarity, suggesting many or multiple. Interdisciplinary researchers position their work at the intersection of disciplines. These relationships inform research practice.
This conference provides an informal and supportive forum for researchers in the creative field to explore opportunities and challenges associated with inter-disciplinary research. This is a space to test ideas, discuss methodologies and receive feedback from peers.
We invite submissions for ‘in progress’ or completed papers, screenings, practice and demonstrations, on any topic related to this subject, including, but by no means limited to:
• Interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary research practice and theory
• Methodologies of practice into theory and theory into practice
• Performing inter-disciplinarity
• Inter-disciplinarity, disruption and political change
• Theoretical histories
• Practical histories
• Points of intersection between disciplines
Closing date for abstracts: 10th August 2018 (for presentations of approx 20 minutes). Please send to [email protected] and [email protected]
