What people or ideas deserve to be celebrated or commemorated? What can or should a monument look like?
Autograph’s current exhibition, YOU NAME IT by Sasha Huber, explores the ways in which colonial histories are imprinted into the landscape through naming and acts of remembrance, and asks: who and what do we memorialise, and how? Now we’re inviting you to join the conversation by sending us your images that respond to the theme ‘Becoming Monumental’. Your response could reference you or your family’s lived experience, a place, an idea or a person from your community who you feel could or should be recognised.
Find out more and how to submit on Autograph’s website
Submissions could include photographs, videos or other art forms like collage and painting. It could be an image of something you have already created, a new work or photos from your family album. You don’t need to own a fancy camera or be a professional artist to take part!
Our panel of judges will select their favourites to feature on Autograph’s website and social media, and to be shared with our press contacts. One outstanding contribution will also win a selection of Autograph publications, including a signed copy of the new limited-edition catalogue published to accompany Sasha Huber’s exhibition.
