Carl Jaycock explores ideas about identity through objects and images taken from a range of cultural sources such as the TV, newspapers, junk, shops and old archives. In doing so, these materials are transformed to recontextualise a variety of cultural perspectives. The playful cut and shaped paper artworks investigate the rich complex narratives in our shifting culture and the connections between local and global culture.Jaycock has exhibited in the UK and abroad. Public collections of his work include Shrewsbury Museum and Art Gallery, The State Museum Majdanek, Poland and Maybank Art Collection, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The exhibition is curated by Outi Remes. Further information at: www.carljaycock.co.uk. For press enquiries contact Chloe Mason on [email protected] or 01344416524.
