‘Castlefield Contemporaries’ shows the creative works of seven Manchester based artists who have came together as a new collective formed through Castlefield Gallery as gallery assistants. This exhibition transforms a commercial building into an exciting exhibition space. The 7 new contemporaries are Shuhebul Alom, Jenny Core, Jamie Crawford, Amy Gough, Andrea O’Brien, Genevieve Rainbow, and Rosanne Robertson. The artists create an experimental platform to contribute to the rising contemporary art scene in Manchester, looking at diverse mediums in order to experiment with their individual artistic concepts. Alongside displaying their work, they also bring forward the opportunity to network with other art groups, artists and organisations. By networking and bringing artists together we can all contribute to the growing contemporary arts scene. Preview Night: Thursday 3 Dec2009, 6-9pm.Closing Event: networking/talk 13 Dec, 4-6pm. Providing a platform for dialogue between various current artist led projects and groups in Manchester. This event is attracting new and established North West based artists and groups to join together in the aim to provide a glimpse into Manchester’s current art scene.
