ACJ – Bristol host a selected contemporary exhibition of experimental work, developed in response to the urban environment. The exhibition runs at the RWA New Gallery, from 26 November – 24 December 2010, 10am – 5.30pm, with a Private View on Sunday 28 November, 2 – 5pm. ‘City’ promises to be an exciting and challenging exhibition of new work from artists and professional makers, Jewellery MA Graduates from Edinburgh, invited guests and students studying enamel, from Queen’s Road School of Art, Bristol. The steering committee of ACJ-Bristol wished to challenge and channel members in moving forward with their work. The ‘City’ project provided the opportunity for members to take part in the exchange and exploration of new ideas in a mutually supportive atmosphere. ACJ-Bristol is an eclectic group; teachers and the previously taught, mostly colleagues and students who met at courses run by The School of Art, Queen’s Road. They also have strong academic links with the Research Faculty at The University of the West of England. The original brief was designed to be as open as possible to include and encourage a wide variety of practice.
