A day of talks and practical activity exploring plant and earth colours introduced by Pip Woolf, an artist with special interest in naturally occurring colours. Participants will have the chance to: experience making earth colour sample plant colours apply colour in a simple fresco technique see the manufacturing of limewash at Ty mawr Lime Ltd and its use with colour in the restoration of Ty Mawr buildings.Contributions include: The Colour of Heaven: a history of blue, Dr Brian Davies, chemist. Where does colour come from? Pip Seymour, teacher in paint techniques at the Prince's Drawing School in London.Use of limewash, environmentally-friendly mineral and plant based paints in building protection and decoration. Nigel & Joyce Gervis founders and directors of Ty Mawr Lime Ltd,A presentation on the practical application of products made and supplied by Ty Mawr Lime Ltd with an opportunity to look at their use on the renovation project at Ty Mawr.'
