With “a stubbornness of wanting to know” Rebecca Westguard spent her summer months of 2010 exploring the human form in the inspirational settings of Hospitalfield House Arbroath. Intensely studying the human figure from nine different life models over thirty five (six and a half hours) sittings. Her recent figures depict a study of life seen with some transparency. Incessantly mapping the figure Rebecca has produced a body of work depicting her sitters in what often seem like moments of tranquillity. Peaceful with delicate line, these works are representative of people in their most honest light
