From the Black Sea to the Black Country – a journey through two cultures reflected in the jewellery of Dilyana Evtimova and the textiles of Ludmilla Hambrook. Connected is an exhibition in which mother and daughter try to express how they are using the heritage of thee two cultures (the native Bulgarian and the adopted British) to create works of beauty and symbolism. The folk art and history inspired hand embroideries of Ludmilla are stylishly embellished by the delicate paper cuts of her daughter. Dilyana’s jewellery shows how the lessons of the past can be translated into contemporary work which still bear connections to the roots. Private view – 18 May from 5 til 6.30pm.
