Contemporary Turning comprises work by 27 national and international artists and walks that delicate tightrope between art and craft. Turning is a métier in which the artists have two taskmasters – the aesthetic and the technical. No piece would have been accepted for this show if it were not technically perfectly crafted and no degree of craftsmanship would give free pass to a piece that was not also beautifully designed.
