GIHON RIVER COLLECTIVE (GRC) is an international assembly of 33 writers and visual artists who were in residency at the Vermont Studio Center in September 2009. VERMONT STUDIO CENTER (VSC) is the largest international artist and writers residency in the United States. OUR AIMS: [1] To share the benefits and experience of an international Artists’ and Writers’ Residency [in general, with VSC as example]. [2] To give a rounded view of a residency in the form of an exhibition with additional events. [3] Sale of Small Works donated by each Exhibitor to assist a UK artist or writer to attend VSC. ADDITIONAL EVENTS: These events accompany the presentation of writing and artwork in the form of an exhibition. Many participating exhibitors will attend. Small Works Fundraiser will be introduced at the Launch Party and continue through Additional Events. LAUNCH PARTY: Thursday 9 September from 6-9pm. ARTIST & WRITER WORKSHOPS: Saturday 11 September from 2-5pm. SHARING THE RESIDENCY EXPERIENCE: Saturday 11 September from 7-9pm. WRITER & NEW MEDIA EVENT*: Monday 13 September from 3-6pm. PANEL DISCUSSION*: Tuesday 14 September from 7-9pm. With Curators Tour of the COPY0909 exhibition from 6 – 6.45pm. CHILDREN’S WORKSHOP*: Sunday 19 September from 3-5pm facilitated by Julie Beech
