The Leytonstone Arts Trail is an annual show of visual arts in diverse venues around Leytonstone. It showcases the creative talent in Leytonstone and it’s surrounding areas, builds connections between artists and local businesses, and invites the community to a week long festival of accessible art, a grassroots group which runs art exhibitions in Leytonstone each summer. The trail events are run by the artists who are exhibiting. This year, Cos Ahmet has been invited to exhibit with the Arts Trail for the first time, and will be showing his new series of collage works ‘Altered State’ in a ‘mini solo exhibition’ at the Norlington Road Studios. ‘Altered State’ is a series of collages, assembled from postcards, remnants and other such miscellany from the artists personal archive of imagery appropriated and altered into meta-figurative beings and grafted self portraits.
