Join artist Shepherd Manyika for a day-long workshop exploring personal histories and different modes for documenting them. We’ll visit Sasha Huber’s exhibition at Autograph for inspiration, considering how personal narratives shape history, and how that history is documented and revisited.

You’ll use personal experiences as a starting point for creation, working from memory or in response to an object that holds importance to you. We’ll consider the ways past and present experience can be monumentalised and preserved through art-making in a series of drawing and writing exercises, before utilising a range of creative materials including photography, audio and film.
Everyone is welcome to join us, you will be supported regardless of what stage in your creative journey or practice you are at. There will be a 1-hour break for lunch. Lunch is not provided but participants are welcome to bring a packed lunch, or there are a number of places near Autograph’s gallery where you can purchase food.
The ticket price for this event is £8. No one will be turned away for lack of funds. If this ticket price is unaffordable for you please get in touch with Livvy at [email protected] about free ticketing options.
