Starting in May 2019, the abbey of Beaulieu-en Rouergue, a masterpiece of Cistercian art converted into a contemporary art centre, will be transformed by three original works. “Our Colour Reflection,” “Our Spectral Vision” and “Autumn Lights” will capture the beautiful natural light of the grandiose spaces of the historic Occitan monastery for an unprecedented immersive colourful experience.
Chapter hall, pantry, nave and large halls will display Liz West’s luminescent, graphic and poetic creations under their storied vaults and arches.
Founded in the 12th century, improved in the 17th and 18th centuries and partially dismantled in the Revolution, the Beaulieu-en-Rouergue Abbey, restored in the 1960s, remains faithful to its vocation in the 21st century: to unite the best contemporary art and religious architecture.
