Dartmoor Arts hosts an annual Summer School centred around the Dartmoor village of Drewsteignton. It offers an intensive week-long programme of art courses and events and is aimed at artists wishing to develop their professional practice. The summer school brings together established and young artists, metropolitan and rural, providing a forum for experimentation and critical debate. Courses on offer for 2010 include photography, earth art, drawing masterclass, painting in the landscape, spatial structures, iron casting and film making. Dartmoor Arts also hosts artists talks and other events during the year. We have two new courses – drawing into painting and a special storytelling weekend. Tutors are all established practitioners in their fields. Bursaries will be available for the 2010 Summer School for those who would not otherwise be able to afford to participate.
