Supercollider is pleased to announce David McLeavy ‘s ‘The Result Of A Concrete Apple’ as the next exhibition in the 2012 programme.Though an ongoing series of investigations McLeavy seeks to question the position of the object and/or the image; do works or ideas of the past still hold truth or even currency within the current environment of contemporary art or by manipulating their intension do they hold more relevance? McLeavy utilises a specific working methodology of juxtaposition, placing various objects that aim to interpret styles selected from the rich history of art across all platforms. This exhibition focuses specifically on the still life works of the 19th Century painter Paul Cezanne. McLeavy seeks to mirror the way Cezanne manipulated the way an audience encountered and looked at a subject by examining the way we relate to the subject of the still life itself.
