Surface Arts are providing a chance to exhibit in a disused warehouse in Exeter in collaboration with Book Cycle.This is an opportunity which liberates a disused warehouse in a desirable area awaiting development on Exeter Quay.This exhibition aims to question artist led activities in response to this time of financial instability and asks if this long standing way of creating new independent opportunities is now becoming essential. We are working in partnership with Book Cycle to involve and promote their volunteer scheme to create this site specific exhibition. The space will provide a free production and ‘collaboratory’ place for the artists for four weeks before the opening of the show, the site has an abundance of materials and artists are encouraged to use these and produce work from the site, all the artists will work on their own DIY initiatives.
