A full-day workshop empowering artists and individuals to fundraise effectively and create a financial strategy for their projects.
The session looks at:
● Approaching galleries and funding bodies with a great proposal
● Minimising rejection when applying for funding
● How to create a financial support strategy for your projects
● Writing about your practice effectively
● Finding out about the best sources of funding for your activities
This session offers feedback sessions for funding proposals in progress in a friendly, supportive environment. To get the most out of the session please bring along a proposal that you have submitted before (and been unsuccessful) or one that you are working on. Each proposal will be examined and suggestions will be made to improve chances of success. The session is aimed at practitioners with little to no experience of fundraising, or those who need a refresher course in current strategies.
Dodge the Shredder is created, developed and delivered by Emilia Telese, an Italian artist working with performance, visual, site-specific and video art. She is a specialist in professional practice for artists, lecturing and speaking at over 30 UK and European art institutions and organisations. She is a CDA AHRC PhD researcher in Cultural Policy at the University of Warwick in partnership with a-n The Artists Information Company.
