Doremifasolasido returns to Cumbria for the second year running. This Summer it will be hosted by Florence Arts Centre on the site of the disused haematite mine, Florence Mine, in Egremont, West Cumbria.
Doremifasolasido is an annual artist-led residency that invites emerging artists from around the country to Cumbria to forge links between artists and arts organisations working in urban and rural settings. This year participating artists have been nominated by partner organisation in London, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle and Cumbria. Over the week-long residency, artists will create artwork, from sculpture to performance and film, taking inspiration from the enigmatic site of Florence Arts Centre, a creative and performance space based at the disused Florence Mine.
The residency exhibition will open to the public on Saturday 20th August, accompanied by an exciting all-day programme of public events, including artist film screenings, performances and spoken word by Different Skies Publication.
The exhibition will then run until 4th September 2016 at Florence Arts Centre.
