Alexander Hoda’s work has been described as a Sculptural Remix because of his practice of selecting, combining and creating work that is often a response to contemporary visual or conceptual triggers. His work explores notions of the grotesque, the familial, sexual repression and fantasy and has been described as ‘juxtaposing subject matter and material and incorporating a peculiar array of tools and stand-in parts which evidence of his fixation with horror films and sci-fi as well as being a more pointed exploration of the Uncanny’.
