Described as the science of everyday life, ergonomics combines the knowledge of human performance with design and engineering to create systems, products and services which are safe, efficient and enjoyable to use. From the humble tape measure and TV remote control, to the vast and complex areas of transport systems and health care, ergonomics improves how we interact with the world around us. With prototypes and interactive displays through to the finished designs, this exhibition reveals the importance of ergonomics in creating efficient design for the real world. Ergonomics: Real Design is a Design Museum exhibition organised in collaboration with Brunel University. The Human Factor To coincide with Ergonomics: Real Design, Tullie House presents a specially designed exhibition of ergonomically considered seating entitled The Human Factor and produced by furniture design students at the University of Cumbria.
