Over this mindful, six-week course for all abilities, your confidence will build as you nurture good drawing and observation techniques. Taking a range of objects, natural and man-made, you’ll work with them individually and collectively to explore their qualities, through line, shape and tone, composition, colour and texture.
You’ll produce dynamic studies in different materials; graphite, charcoal, pastel and ink, and explore a variety of styles and approaches through the use of a range of drawing tools. Making naturalistic representations of your objects, they may also serve as a point of departure towards more imaginative and expressive work.
With interesting exercises to lead you through the different visual elements to consider, training yourself to look properly will be key – as will drawing what you see – not what you expect to see!
