Solo exhibition of paintings, prints, works on paper and charcoal & pastel collages by contemporary landscape and seascape artist Janine Baldwin. Janine’s abstract expressions of landscape and the North Yorkshire coast reflect her love of the surroundings of her home of Scarborough. Painting with oil on canvas, she uses oil sticks to accentuate the composition with bright, colourful and loose flourishes. The resulting images have a freshness and energy that owe much to the Abstract Expressionist movement that has been a major influence in her work. Since graduating from York University, Scarborough Campus in 2001, Janine has shown her work in the Royal Academy of Arts and the Society of Women Artists, London. She is currently exhibiting in Canada.
