‘Fastenings’ is an exhibition of new assemblage works by David Lemm.
Combining printed image, drawing, wooden forms and objects collected during a research visit to Findhorn, the presented works explore material relationships and the entwining of human infrastructures with organic systems.
Influenced by the story of the original village of Findhorn disappearing into the sea, Lemm has focused on the erosion of the coastline and the structures encountered there. Drawn to roots, remnants and ruins, he has produced layered works which consider the landscape as a mesh of reciprocities and the ephemeral narratives therein.
