foundapound.com is a project being created by artist Rowan Seddon-Harvey for the Liverpool Biennial Independents 2010 to encourage giving.The process is started by the gift of £1 coins, distributed, sometimes slightly hidden, in art galleries, public spaces and on the streets of Liverpool during the 2010 Biennial. Each pound will have a sticker on one side, containing text or images and the words foundapound.com.It is then down to the individual who found that pound to either look up foundapound.com or simply enjoy the luck of finding a pound.Why a pound? Nearly a quarter of the worlds population lives on a pound a day or less. We will give you a free pound, spend it on anything at all. A cup of tea, a bar of chocolate, drop it in the hat of a busker. Although it’s just small change, you could use it to make a bigger change.We are running a competition to create designs and slogan ideas for stickers to be stuck on pound coins as part of the Found a Pound event.
