Jenkse Dijkhuis mostly makes site specific architectural installations that provide a place or shelter for people to enhance the experience of the space it stands in. Using history, context, architecture and the natural elements to create a concept, it is executed in an archetypical form to define both the space it encloses as well as the space that surrounds it. ‘From Public Space to Private Realm’ is the first solo gallery based exhibition for Dijkhuis. Working outside of her own natural boundaries, she examines the relationship between internal and external environments, drawing attendtion to our perception of these spaces when confronted with these elements.
