Supercollider is pleased to announce the next exhibition in partnership with FYCreatives. For this exhibition Supercollider is pleased to welcome Garry Cook; who’s photographic essay Brilliant Blackpool will be the next in Semiconductor series of exhibitions. Cook’s photographic relationship with Blackpool began like many others – whenever he visited the resort he would take a camera, take some snapshots, and leave with an assortment of images of the tower and of the bright, garish signage which adorns swathes town’s urban fabric. Between May 2004 and September 2005 Cook worked as a casual sub-editor for the local newspaper – The Gazette, a post that would ultimately shape his relationship with the resort, altering how he perceived it and how he thought about what it was and what it is now. During this time Cook switched his attention from the town’s urban fabric to its human counterpart. For Brilliant Blackpool Cook will present a selection of images from the series taken between 2007 and 2010. In addition to these images a limited edition zine featuring selected works will also be available.
