Growth affects us all. From industrial or economic growth to the changing shape of our bodies, the continuing growth of our lives takes place both inside and outside of us, very often beyond our control. In this exhibition at Gallery@49 by artists from Studio8 they explore, through their work, the various interpretations of growth.Studio8 is the studio space of the Corn Exchange at New Greenham Arts, Newbury and the artists include Katherine Attwell, Jane Cannon, Shirley Eccles, Flora Gare, Sally Haynes, Helen Peake, Helen Lunn, Steve Sommerville, Luke Webb, and Margaret Hodges. Their practices embrace painting, drawing, sculpture, installation and calligraphy using varied media including glass, oil paint, resin, wood, ink, recycled materials, wire and stone. The Arts Centre was established in 1998 by Greenham Common Trust in the former military Recreation Centre at New Greenham Park (now Greenham Business Park).
