Newly situated in the heart of vibrant Bermondsey Street, Peter Layton’s London Glassblowing is a hot glass workshop focussed on the creation and display of contemporary glass art. It has an enviable reputation as one of Europe’s leading glassmaking studios. The new space is being launched with Heavenly Scent 2010: a selling exhibition with features perfume bottles, paperweights and glass jewellery by some thirty artists including Andrew Logan, Allister Malcolm, Malcolm Sutcliffe and Catherine Coleman. These will make perfect presents for Valentine’s Day. The exhibition will be opened by internationally renowned architect, Laurie Chetwood, designer of the extraordinary award winning Perfume Garden at Chelsea Flower Show last year Limited edition paperweights and phials of Elizabeth I, the eau de toilette created in the Perfume Garden at Chelsea, will be available. A rare example of the perfume version by Jean Patou, in a Peter Layton bottle will be auctioned for charity.
