The HomeBase Project, an artist run site-specific interdisciplinary public art project that explores the archetype of home marks its fifth consecutive year by going international. HomeBase V Berlin will take up residence in an unoccupied building that once functioned as a youth hostel and a neighboring vacant bus depot, located in the Pankow district, in what was once formerly communist East Berlin. An international contingent of artists working in the visual and performing arts will transform the venue through site-specific art projects exploring the notion of Home. The site will open to the public from Sep 21st – through Oct 12th free of charge with a full cultural program of events, lectures and performances that will be broadcasted on-line.
