Highly acclaimed contemporary artist holds first solo show in hometown "Scribbles, scrawls, meaningless adornments seem somehow to transport me." Following international recognition through exhibitions in London, Los Angeles, Hong Kong and Edinburgh, Opus Art is proud to present Hush's first solo show in his hometown, Newcastle. In this latest exhibition, Hush explores the controversial subjects that de-sensitise today's culture including porn, gun violence and high school shootings. Hush's origins as a street artist continue to inform the medium of his contemporary work. Composed of a series of canvases and wooden box frame pieces as well as limited edition prints, the exhibition demonstrates how Hush uses a very involved mixed media technique including screen print, spray can and layering with paper. The infamous trademark of his female Manga image is complemented with pop art style females and cherub statues.
