The artist will be at the gallery on the 15-16 October. Exhibition open 3-6pm Weds-Fri | 12-6 Sat-Sun. Closes 22nd Oct. idir eathara – an ancient Celtic term describes a boundary as neither one place nor another, but the space between the two, a temporal or transformative space that the artist imagines the body or self passing through. Stone works across both floors of the gallery using sharp contrasts of light and dark and oscillations of scale. To this he applies a seductive layering of materials including salt, porcelain, gold leaf, glass and wax. Stone’s work materialises in many forms from objects and installation through to site-specific works. These have been shown at Schwartz Gallery and Beaconsfield in London as well as at further galleries and sites in the UK and abroad. He was recently been selected for the Threadneedle Prize 2011.
