"The object of the artist is the creation of the beautiful. What the beautiful is is another question". (James Joyce 'A portrait of the artist as a Young Man')If the second question is '"what is beautiful?" then the question that must be answered first is "what is the object of the artist?" Starting from the position of flux, working with and in a space with a shape originally defined by its purpose and a role in the community that has shifted in concept. As the space moves from church to arts centre, one question raises another, creating a nebulous state of inconclusion and ambiguity. Each artist tries to put this question to the work, to themselves and to the viewer. Presenting a range of works across media the artists look to find a moment of certainty. inconclusion a group show by three artists; Jane Archer makes paintings, drawings and collages and was selected for SaLon Gallery top 25 London Graduates; Jeremy Evans works in video and produces objects, is currently in new contemporaries 2008; Holly Chadd is a sculptor, currently an MA
