Presented by North Lanarkshire Council, “Interior State” is the first solo exhibition by Joanna Waclawski. This selection of new photographic work is a development on the theme of “The Interior”. Made exclusively with analogue photographic processes, the resulting images are raw and unapologetic in their flaws. Insignificant objects and bizarre domestic settings, combine with the expectant atmosphere of human absence. Despite the images originating from within different locations, the exhibition is a description of something collectively shared but never possessed.
