Lawrie Simonson is a sculptor and painter. He has won several art prizes and exhibited at many shows in the UK and Europe. The use of metal and found objects in his sculpture is a progression from the traditional manner in which artists have interpreted nature and animals. He showsanimals, birds and insects to have humour, vulnerability and simplicity, which he transmutes into sculptural form.
