EotLA in collaboration with Book Art Bookshop are pleased to present Leo Asemota’s installation of “Testimony” the artists’ book on "ens memoralis: Essence of Memory" his extraordinary performance on June 26, 2008 in the Main Hall of the Ondaatje Wing of the National Portrait Gallery. Also on view, displayed in the bookshop window are materials relating Asemota’s evolvement of ideas for the performance. "Testimony" is published in an edition of ten unique copies some of which are held in private and public collections including the V&A National Art Library and Iniva’s Stuart Hall Library. Leo Asemota is a contemporary artist with a continuing history of projects internationally. On June 3, he will be giving a talk on his on-going work “The Ens Project” in the series Conversation Pieces at Tate Britain. Aspects of this work can be seen in forthcoming exhibitions; One’s History is Another’s Misery at Autocenter Berlin (June 13 – July 11, 2009), Stedelijk Museum Bureau Amsterdam (July 26 – September 06, 2009) and during Living Landscapes (June 18 – 21, 2009), an international symposia on performance, landscape and environment at Aberystwyth University.
