Opening Reception Wednesday 16th April 6 – 9 pm or Saturday 19th April 2.30 – 5.30 pm. Colin began his artistic career as an illustrator in Cornwall in 1977. Origionally an airbrush artist in photo-realism, for 20 years he worked freelance for advertising agencies in various parts of the world. In 1997 he took a break from commercial art,and trained as a Christian lay minister. His spiritual search has led him back to a deep desire to paint again, now in oils on canvas. Colin’s paintings have that capacity to draw you in … to something more. Combining his love of art and the sacred, many of the paintings are inspired by time on Holy Island, on the Northumberland coast. Colin says, “Spending time by water restores my soul. It also connects me with the amazing natural beauty and the peace within it. I have attempted to convey an experience of the place and my encounter with the divine there”.
