Lorraine Clarke is inspired by magic, medicine and religion. Her work takes multiple forms from large installations to small and finely crafted collections. These are reminiscent of objects associated with ancient rites and traditions whilst also having direct relevance to contemporary medical practices such as stem cell technology. This produces unique commentary on the challenges of modern scientific research and its ethical and social concerns. Clarke has exhibited widely in the UK and Europe and has worked as the Head of Art Therapy at Manchester General Hospital. The exhibition is curated by Outi Remes.
