We have all experienced loss at some stage of our lives; be it the break-up of a relationship, the passing away of a beloved family pet, the death of someone close or the decline of a friendship, loss touches all our lives. Annemarie Anang’s photographs tell a story of a journey taken following the loss of a parent, both emotionally and physically.

The public are invited to participate in the exhibition by contributing their own photographs or memorabilia related to loss, whether is it about the passing away of a loved one, a missed opportunity or however the member of public wish to interpret loss.  Empty frames will be on display where the public can do so.

Lost & Found aims to allow visitors to find something through their time at the exhibition. It could be simply enjoyment of the images on display, inspiration from the growing content of the public frame, engagement with other visitors, or leaving the exhibition feeling inspired to spend more time with a loved one.The exhibition is supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.

In May 2013 Annemarie Anang travelled with her mother, who had recently been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, to Ghana where her late father had been planning to retire in order to organise his affairs in that country. During the trip she produced a striking and thought-provoking catalogue of photographic work reflecting her emotions at this crucial time of her life.

Time: Mon-Fri 11-5pm Saturday & Sunday closed

Free exhibition although donations encouraged to the Alzheimer’s Society.
