Lovelys of Cliftonville are marking their 125th anniversary with a special celebration weekend on 4th and 5th June with a sixties exhibition and special events. The exhibition ‘Retro’, will feature rare work for sale from renowned artists of the era including Bridget Riley, Salvador Dali and Peter Blake and photographers Eve Arnold, Milton H. Greene & Angus McBean. The exhibition will also feature prints from Andy Warhol, Nicholas Bentley, Lichenstein, along with contemporary and local artists work inspired by the era. Staff will be dressed in sixties vintage and the shop window is to be recreated as retro sitting room along with records shop Transmission of Northdown Road providing music from the swinging sixties. There will also be lots of special offers throughout the store over the weekend.
Special appearance by renowned printmaker Graham Clarke on Sunday 5th 11am – 3pm.
Graham will be signing copies of his latest print – “The Jetty” featuring Broadstairs harbour, which will also be available to purchase on the day along with a collection of Grahams handmade prints.
