ARTISTS MAKE CHANGE
We are working with a-n The Artist Information Company to deliver Artists Make Change – a 12 month participatory R&D project designed to explore the role of the artist in society, and in particular to assess, and advocate for, how artists and art organisers can effectively work for change.
INFO on Artists Make Change
We have commissioned a series of 5 case study presentations from which we’ll be holding 5 corresponding Group Discussions – The discussions will take place online, on Zoom.
DISCUSSION #1
Making Change through Unionisation
facilitated by KATRIONA BEALES
June 8th, 2pm – 3.30pm Book Your Place HERE
Do you feel unrepresented? Do you ever feel that no-one hears your voice? Are you in need of a support structure? In this discussion, facilitated by one of the founding members of Artists Union England, Katriona Beales, we will explore:
– underlying principles of unionisation
– do artists need to unionise?
– what are the benefits and what are the challenges
– solidarity – can it work in the arts?
– and more!
This discussion session runs in parallel to a presentation by members of The United Voices of the World Union’s Design and Creative Workers Branch – be sure to the watch the video before joining the discussion to get the most out of the experience. The presentation by UVW-DCW can be accessed by clicking HERE
