The Symposium is themed around variety of materials it is possible to use to create contemporary jewellery and how they can work together. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in demonstrations and talks on a variety of techniques and methods and become involved in creating part of an artwork that will grow throughout the day.The timetable for the event is being created and will be posted on the JSN website soon.The Material Connections project is also a means by which the JSN can connect with jewellers in the USA, several members of the JSN are participating in an exchange with the Critique Collective in San Francisco. The Critique Collective will be attending the Symposium and sharing their expertise with attendees and the JSN. We in turn will be visiting the USA and participating in an event planned by the Critique Collective in 2011.An exhibition of the stunning work created within the the JSN and the Critique Collective will run in conjunction with the Symposium and be on display for the enjoyment of the attendees.There is convenient parking and a cafe on site that serves hot and cold drinks, cakes, cookies and savory food.Tickets are £24 (£16 NUS) before 31st July and £30 (£20 NUS) after 31st July and are available from the Farnham Maltings Box Office. 01252 745 444 http://www.farnhammaltings.com/
