Linda Johns uses line and space to create multi-dimensional drawings, combining her interest in drawing and how line can depict form, with the spatial presence and materiality of sculpture. Linda is inspired by our understanding of the world through science (particularly physics and quantum physics) and how our ancestors related to the world through narrative, ritual and the creation of mythologies.Contemporary physics includes untestable theories. Morphic resonance suggests the overlay of experience on matter as a way of understanding the notion of ‘spirit’. Are we actually creating new mythologies? For this exhibition Linda has created drawings and sculptures which re-present the figure within nature, developing a myth-inspired narrative which asks: What is perception? What is reality?
