Orpheus’ love Euridice is bitten by a serpent and dies; in his grief he pleads to the gods of the underworld for her life. Orpheus’ wish is granted on the condition that whilst leaving the underworld he must not look back else she will remain there forever. On the verge of leaving he forgets. Ivan Daggett has been working as a fine artist and lecturer in further education for twenty years. His recent work is an intuitive exploration and expression of the Orpheus and Euridice story from early Greek mythology
